Pen Buddy is provided by Laxatunga ehf., Sporðagrunni 13, 104 Reykjavík, Iceland. By using Pen Buddy you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.

Using Pen Buddy

• Pen Buddy is a study aid. Its answers come from AI models and can be wrong; check anything important.
• Use Pen Buddy for your own learning and follow your school’s rules on academic honesty.
• Don’t misuse the service: no attempts to break, overload or get around its limits, and no unlawful content.

Your content

Your notes are yours. You give Pen Buddy permission to process them only as needed to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Accounts, plans and credits

Talking to Buddy uses credits: a credit is about one question, quick ones use less and deep thinking more. Free credits, plans and credit packs are described in the app. Credits have no cash value, and a plan’s credits don’t carry over to the next month.

On the Mac, purchases are made through Stripe; subscriptions renew monthly until you cancel them in the app (Settings › Account › Manage).

On iPad, plans are monthly subscriptions bought through the App Store and charged to your Apple Account. They renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Apple’s standard licence terms for apps (the Licensed Application End User License Agreement) also apply to the iPad app.

Availability

Pen Buddy is provided “as is”. It may change, and it may sometimes be unavailable. To the extent the law allows, Pen Buddy isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from its use.

Ending

You can stop using Pen Buddy and delete your account at any time (Settings › Account › Delete Account). Accounts that misuse the service may be suspended.
